MSc Cloud and Enterprise Computing
Course overview
The MSc Cloud and Enterprise Computing course trains students on the fundamental principles and processes of creating, designing and evaluating Enterprise Information Systems (EIS). This includes the development of systems that are scalable, distributed, and intelligent, with the emphasis on the methods to implement large-scale applications to the Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA), and to deploy them cost-effectively to Cloud environments. Another important business management concern that is under discussion in the programme is the adoption of Cloud services.
Assessment for this course is entirely by coursework, case studies, and a dissertation, with no formal examinations. The learning methods include lectures, specialist laboratory sessions, seminars, and project work. A core component is the Major Project, which allows students to specialise in a chosen Cloud or Enterprise computing topic, applying knowledge to an innovative solution for a complex technical problem. Students have the option of a one-year work placement.
