BSc Psychology Forensic Psychology

Nottingham Trent University

Course overview

This degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and focuses on the core areas of psychology while exploring the psychological understanding of offending behaviour. The course covers the complete curriculum required by the BPS, including brain function, thinking processes, and human emotions, and relates them directly to the work of the police, the courts, and the prison system.

The course includes work-like experience, and students have the option of a one-year placement in Year 3. Their learning is guided by expert staff, and students will use innovative psychology laboratories for research. In their final year, students will complete a major research project in Forensic Psychology and study how psychology can be used to explain and prevent criminal behaviour.
