BSc Chemistry with Secondary Education QTS
Course overview
The BSc Chemistry with Secondary Education (QTS) at Nottingham Trent University is a three-year course that will deepen students' knowledge of chemistry, especially how to teach the subject to secondary school students, and also help them fast-track their journey into a fulfilling career as a secondary chemistry teacher. Studying this course at Nottingham Trent will develop your own knowledge of chemistry. Some of the courses will be taught by former secondary teachers with a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching, to give students a first-hand learning experience backed by real-life experiences. The course content will cover both chemistry as a subject and education modules.
Students will be assessed based on coursework and formal examinations, while modules with an educational focus will be assessed through assignments, presentations, and a portfolio. There will be time for practical teaching during the placement year, and the assessment of practical teaching is based on your performance while on placement.
