Liverpool John Moores University

Course overview

The MSc Nursing (Child) at John Moores University will prepare students to work in partnership with patients and carers. Students will learn to communicate effectively with children and young people, many of whom have complex communication and care needs. Throughout the course, students will be supported by the clinical and academic team to develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care. They will also be given the opportunity to work across different healthcare settings and boards.

The MSc Nursing programme in John Moores University reflects the changing delivery of health care, where services are designed around the needs of children, young people, and their families, with a focus on the whole child, rather than just their illness. Children and young people receive nursing care in a range of settings, including home, school and hospital. The programme therefore provides students with a wide range of practice placements in order to understand the healthcare experience of children and young people.
