BSc Nursing Mental Health
Course overview
The BSc Nursing (Mental Health) at Leeds Trinity University offers you an innovative, supportive programme to prepare you for a rewarding career as a mental health nurse. Students become skilled at delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to people experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, acute, complex, or long-term.
The course blends 50% classroom learning with 50% clinical placements across hospitals, community facilities, schools, secure environments, and people’s homes. In this course, students learn essential skills like how to communicate clearly, how to stay strong, and how to think carefully about problems. They will do this by working together with patients (service users), their families (carers), and other healthcare professionals, such as general practitioners (GPs), social workers, and psychiatrists.
The main topics students will study include how the human body works (anatomy and physiology), policy and ethics, medicines (pharmacology), and practical skills (clinical skills). These skills will be practised safely using simulation facilities (like practice rooms).
