Course Overview

The BSc Forensic Psychology with Foundation Year at Leeds Trinity University is an undergraduate programme that spans a year, preparing and building the academic and core skills of students looking to study a BSc in Forensic Psychology, particularly for those who do not meet the entry requirements. 

The foundation year introduces students to the basic theories and themes of psychology, including biological, cognitive, and social aspects of human behaviour.  After the foundation year, students will move into the main forensic psychology degree and learn professional topics such as theories of crime, risk assessment, and the treatment of offenders.

About University

Leeds Trinity University is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England and has a Roman Catholic heritage and is a member of the Cathedrals Group, an association of UK universities with Christian foundations.  It was founded in 1966 as two teacher training colleges, and it has expanded to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in different fields. 

The university has two campuses, the main campus in Horsforth and a city campus in central Leeds. The main campus has hostels, and facilities such as a learning centre, sports science laboratories, and a sports centre with an artificial pitch. The city campus, where the School of Computer Science is located, provides modern learning spaces, special laboratories for psychology students, and other special facilities. Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Candidates are to submit a statement where they discuss their reasons for applying for the course, an academic and/or employer reference and  CVs along with their applications.

Grade Requirements

  • Candidates need a UCAS tariff of 64 points.
  • All candidates must have a minimum of a grade 4 or C in GCSE Maths and English Language or higher.

English Proficiency 

  • Applicants need to score at least 6.0 overall in the IELTS test, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • Other English language test scores such as PTE and TOEFL IBT are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The annual tuition fee for the BSc Forensic Psychology with Foundation Year course at Leeds Trinity University for the 2025/26 academic year is £12,000.

Scholarships

Leeds Trinity University offers scholarships and awards to support students in their academics such as, The Leeds Trinity Bursary which provides a cash award of £500 to eligible UK students with a household income of £25,000 or less, paid in the second year of their undergraduate course, Academic excellent students who have AAB at A-level or equivalent qualifications can receive the Academic Achievement Award of £1,000, which doesn't require an application. The Sanctuary Scholarship is available to forced migrants in the UK, covering the full cost of tuition fees and providing an additional £10,000 per year towards study costs.
