BEng Aerospace Engineering

Course Overview

The BEng Aerospace Engineering at Kingston University is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society and satisfies requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and, in part, Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Students study topics such as aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, dynamics, materials, and control, applying theory through laboratory work, design projects, and a flight test course aboard a flying laboratory aircraft and are assessed through written exams, laboratory reports, group and individual projects, and design coursework.

The BEng Aerospace Engineering at Kingston University offers an optional professional placement year, and students may participate in Formula Student competitions or space-related challenges with facilities such as wind tunnels, rocket propulsion labs, flight simulators, 3D printing, satellite ground stations, and manufacturing workshops to support practical learning.

  • Applicants with a Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering (DDM–DDD) or other relevant engineering qualifications, such as an Access to HE Diploma with specified credits, are also accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates without an English-speaking background need an IELTS score of 6.5 and a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • An equivalent Secure English Language Test (SELT) is also accepted.

Cost of Study

International students of the BEng Aerospace Engineering in Kingston University pay a tuition fee of £18,500 in the first year, rising in later years.
