MSc International Sport Management

Course Overview

The MSc International Sports Management course at Heriot-Watt University is designed to provide students with the understanding and skills needed for careers in national and international sporting organisations. During the 1-year master's programme, students will develop key business knowledge with a focus on understanding current issues and research that shape international sports practice. 

Beyond subject knowledge, the Heriot-Watt University's MSc International Sports Management course will allow students to gain transferable skills that will enable them to work independently and in teams, identify areas for professional development and use technology to create an impact in sports management on a global scale.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement explaining their reasons for applying for the course and providing relevant details about their academic background. A suitable academic or professional reference is also necessary. Students can include their CV with their application to highlight any relevant work experience they may have.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants are expected to have a minimum of an honours degree at 2:2 or non-UK equivalent in a sport-related subject (including sports science, sport development, and sport coaching), business or management, or a related subject.
  • Candidates who have degrees in unrelated subjects can appl,y but must have experience working in sport or general business and management.

English Proficiency:

  • The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5.
  • If applicants do not have IELTS 6.0, the university offers a range of English language courses to help them meet the English language requirement for this programme before commencing their studies.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee (2025/2026 session) to study the MSc International Sports Management at Heriot-Watt University is £21,192 (full-time) and £10,596 part-time.
