BSc Biological Sciences Human Health

The BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences (Human Health) at Heriot-Watt University is a four-year full-time undergraduate course taught in Edinburgh. It provides detailed knowledge and skills in biological sciences with a focus on human health, covering cell and molecular biology, nutrition, and exercise science. In later years, the course expands into anatomy and physiology.

Students will improve their critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. They will learn to assess research results and offer new solutions to complex biological issues. Practical laboratory work is a key part of the degree, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge and gain valuable skills in interpreting scientific data.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need Highers AABB, A-Levels BBC-ABB, International Baccalaureate (27 points), BTEC Extended Diploma, or an equivalent international qualification.
• Higher requirements apply for direct entry into Year 2 or Year 3 from various qualifications.

English Proficiency: 

• If English is not your first language, you need to provide evidence of English language ability. The minimum requirement for this programme is an IELTS score of 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5. 
• Other equivalent test scores, like PTE and TOEFL, are accepted.
