BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Course Overview

The BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering programme at De Montfort University is designed to introduce students to the principles behind the design, development, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems. Areas of study include circuits, control systems, power electronics, and embedded systems. Through these modules, students will gain skills related to fixing common electronic faults to creating large-scale electrical engineering designs.

The course utilises a block teaching method, meaning students will concentrate on one module individually before moving to the next. This is designed to help them understand and absorb the content more thoroughly. They will also learn through lectures, lab work, group projects, and optional placements with companies like Airbus or Network Rail.

In this course, students will be assessed through lab reports, presentations, group work, and final-year projects.
