MSc Psychology

Course Overview

The British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited the MSc Psychology course. It is a conversion programme for students without an undergraduate degree in psychology. The course teaches students psychological theories, research methods, and experimentation in real-life situations, giving students an excellent foundation in human behaviour, thinking, and emotion.

The course covers core subjects such as biological and cognitive psychology, social and individual differences, human development and diversity, and independent research and ethics. Students are eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of BPS after graduation.

This course will be taught through lectures, tutorials, group projects, seminars, and workshops and will be assessed through presentations, independent projects, case studies, questionnaires, essays, and portfolios.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Candidates need to submit a personal statement and relevant information regarding their studies, an academic and/or employer reference, and their CVs to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates need a 2:2 or above undergraduate degree in any subject.
  • International qualifications equivalent to an undergraduate degree in any subject may be accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants need to score at least 6.5 overall in the IELTS test, with no component below 5.5.
  • Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.

Cost of Study

The international students’ tuition fee for the MSc Psychology programme at Coventry University is £18,600.

Scholarships

Coventry University has some scholarships for international postgraduate students including, the Vice-Chancellor Postgraduate Scholarship, which gives students £2,500 off their tuition fees if they start in November 2025, January 2026, or March 2026 - it is open to all international students except those from the EU or UK, and they do not need to apply separately, the university will check if they are eligible when they accept their offer.

The Alumni Discount gives a 25% discount on course fees for students who have graduated from Coventry University, which is automatic. EU students might be eligible for the EU Support Bursary, which brings their tuition fees down to the same rate as UK students, and it is applied automatically. Finally, the Sports Scholarships give them £1,500 or £3,000, with extra support, but they need to apply for this one separately, and it is only for students starting in September 2025.
