BEng Automotive Engineering

The BEng Automotive Engineering with Foundation Year at Coventry University is a 4-year undergraduate course for students who want to learn how cars and vehicles are designed, built, and tested, but may not meet the direct entry requirements for the full degree. The first year (foundation year) helps students build basic knowledge in math, physics, and engineering principles. 

After the foundation year, students continue to the main BEng Automotive Engineering course for the next three years. • A-Levels: Usually CD or above
• BTEC: Merit profile in a relevant subject (e.g., engineering, IT, or Science)
• International students with WAEC, NECO, or other equivalent qualifications are accepted. Applicants with work experience or non-standard backgrounds may also apply.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your first language, you’ll need to show proof of English proficiency. The university requires an IELTS score of 6.0 with no component below 5.5. Other equivalent test scores, like TOEFL and PTE, are also accepted by the university.

For the 2025/26 academic year, the annual tuition fee for studying BEng Automotive Engineering with a foundation year from Coventry University is £19,850 per year for international students.
