The foundational year serves as the first year for students who don't have the entry grades for the main degree, or for those returning to school after a break. The Foundation Year in Sport will improve students' academic skills, knowledge, and confidence for their future studies. If the students pass this year, they can move straight into the first year of a specialised BSc (Hons) degree, such as Sport Coaching, Sport Performance Analysis, or Sport, Physical Education and Health.
Students will be taught through a blend of weekly lectures, group work, workshops, and seminars. Assessment will be done using various methods such as written coursework, presentations, portfolios, in-class tests, and exams. Support, including revision sessions and personal tutoring, is provided to help students succeed in their assessments and further academic journey.
