BSc Architectural Design Technology

Course Overview

This programme trains students to become specialists in building design by concentrating on the technical performance of structures. It provides a deep, technical grounding in construction materials, architectural science, and processes, and is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT). Students spend much of their time in a studio environment, learning how to detail buildings and effectively use industry-standard software, such as Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Students will learn through methods such as lectures, hands-on practical workshops, classes (seminars), and design reviews. All students' grades come from professional assignments, like written work, technical case studies, and a final large project. The course is a three-year full-time programme, but students can choose to make it four years by including a year working in the industry.
