MSC Renewable Energy Engineering

Course Overview

The Brunel University London Renewable Energy Engineering programme equips graduates and engineering professionals with the theoretical and practical skills necessary for careers in the expanding field of renewable energy technology. 

The course focuses on providing sustainable solutions to climate change and energy security challenges. The course also offers a solid grounding in the main principles of energy production, alongside detailed knowledge of various renewable energy technologies and systems, including solar, wind, tidal, wave, hydro, geothermal, biomass, and hydrogen.

Students will also examine the economic and environmental impact of renewable systems, as well as the legal, planning, and technical aspects of integrating them into existing power grids. The programme is available for full-time study over one year, with taught modules from September to April, followed by an individual project and dissertation from May to September. 

A three-year distance learning option is also offered. This degree is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the Energy Institute (EI), fulfilling the academic requirements to achieve Chartered Engineer (CEng) status in the UK.

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Grade Requirements:

  • To be enrolled, you need to have at least a lower second-class (2:2) honours degree, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification. 
  • This degree should be in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related engineering or science discipline. 
  • You will also be considered if you have other qualifications or relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not your first language, you need an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with no component score falling below 5.5. 
  • The university also accepts comparable scores from other English tests, including PTE, BrunELT, and TOEFL.

Scholarships
