MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering

Course Overview

The MEng Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree at Brunel University London offers knowledge of designing electronic and electrical systems. The course provides students with an understanding of modern electronic and electrical concepts and prepares them to work as engineers in the technology sector. 

Learning is in areas such as fundamental engineering mathematics, programming, digital and electronic devices, communication systems, and sustainable electrical engineering.  Advanced topics include integrated circuit design, intelligent systems, power electronics, and embedded systems engineering, which are taught in later years.

In this course, students are assessed through coursework, lab reports and an individual project in the final year. Graduates become chartered engineers through their accreditation by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).

Entry Requirements for Pakistani Students

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement explaining their interest in electronic and electrical engineering and any relevant academic or professional experience. One academic or employer reference is needed. Applicants may also upload a CV to show their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants typically need to have a minimum of ABB at A‑level (including grade B in Mathematics and another science or technology subject).
  • Alternatively, applicants with relevant equivalent qualifications, such as BTEC  at DDD in engineering, plus grade B in A‑level Mathematics, are considered.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants who do not speak English as their first language need an overall IELTS score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
  • Accepted alternatives include Pearson (PTE) or TOEFL.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for this programme is £24,795 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may change.

Scholarships

The Brunel University of London Undergraduate International Bursary 2025/26 offers a £3,000 fee reduction for self-funded international students on undergraduate courses, applied each year for a maximum of three years, or four years for integrated MEng programmes. Other scholarships and external funding options exist for international students who meet certain eligibility requirements.
