Birmingham City University’s MSc Management and International Business Programme is designed to help students gain the skills needed to perform well in leadership roles in global business. It focuses on what it takes to be in charge of a business, firm, or venture, while striking a fine balance of what it means to scale a business on an international basis. The modules explain strategy decision-making, emotional and social intelligence, and managing international teams. This course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
During this programme, which lasts for a year, students understand global business challenges and build strong communication and organisational skills. A 20-week professional placement is also available to gain hands-on experience and ensure familiarity with the demands of the industry.
Learning involves team-based projects, brainstorming sessions, presentations, tutorials, and simulation of the business setting. The assessment methods used to evaluate the understanding and effectiveness of the lectures include coursework, reports, examinations, and a final dissertation or project with one-on-one interaction with tutors, industry experts, and peers.
