LLM Legal Practice

The LLM Legal Practice course at Birmingham City University is designed for graduates of different undergraduate courses who aspire to become qualified solicitors. The programme prepares students for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE1) and offers opportunities to develop practical legal skills relevant to the SQE2 assessment.

Students will learn to apply critical legal knowledge and demonstrate competence in essential skills, such as client interviews, legal analysis, advocacy, case analysis, and work at the Law Clinic, as well as join the Mooting Society. • A different degree will be accepted if the student has enough relevant work experience in the legal field.

English Proficiency:

• Non-English speakers need to score 6.5 overall in IELTS with at least 6.0 in each section.
• Other English tests, like PTE, are also accepted.

For full-time international students, the LLM Legal Practice programme starting in September 2025 tuition fee is £19,970 per year.
