BSc Architectural Technology

The BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology at Birmingham City University is a course that teaches both building design and how buildings are constructed. It is approved by two professional bodies, the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) and the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). BCU has several campuses. The City Centre Campus is close to Millennium Point. It includes the Parkside Building (media, arts, film and TV studios), the Curzon Building (business, law, social sciences), Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, and the STEAMhouse innovation hub.

The City South Campus is based at the Mary Seacole Building. It has special training spaces for students studying health and life sciences. These include hospital rooms, operating theatres, and birthing rooms, so students can practise real-life healthcare skills.

Grade Requirements:

• To study this course, you must possess at least a UCAS tariff of 112 points. This could include qualifications such as A-Levels at BBC; T-Level with Merit; and Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits. 

English Proficiency: 

• International students will need to provide proof of proficiency in English. To do this, an IELTS overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component is required. 
• If you do not meet this requirement, you may be eligible for the university's Pre-sessional English courses.

The tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic session to study a BSc in Architectural Technology at Birmingham City University is £17,960. Please note that the fee quoted is for the 2025/2026 academic year. Therefore, fees may be increased for subsequent sessions.

Birmingham City University has several scholarships to help new undergraduate students with their studies. If you have 144 or more UCAS points, you may receive the High Achievers' Scholarship, which gives you £1,000. The Accelerate Scholarship also offers £1,000 in your first year if you come from a lower-income family. This support can help you adjust more easily to university life.
