MSc Psychology Conversion

Course Overview

The MSc Psychology Conversion is a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited programme that provides students with core psychological knowledge and research skills. It includes modules that cover statistical literacy, qualitative research, and the relationship between the brain, body, and mind. Students will also learn about key issues in applied psychology.

Learning in the course is a combination of class discussions, guided independent study, and hands-on practice. Assessment takes place through written and oral presentations, practical exercises, and a postgraduate dissertation. Middlesex University is a public research institution located in north London, England, with additional campuses in Dubai and Mauritius. Entry Requirements for Nigerian Students

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need at least a second-class honours undergraduate degree 2.2, which can be in any subject.
  • The university will also consider applicants who have a second-class degree with high module grades, or three years of relevant work experience, along with the ability to study at a postgraduate level.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds are required to have good English language skills.
  • The university accepts various tests, including IELTS. If applicants do not meet the minimum English language requirements, the university provides an intensive pre-sessional English course.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for full-time international students is £17,100.

Scholarships

International students can apply for general scholarships offered by Middlesex University. Students can only be awarded one scholarship, even if they are eligible for more than one. Some of the scholarships they may be eligible for include the Regional or International Merit Award, which offers up to £2,000 towards first-year tuition fees.

The Alumni Postgraduate Award gives a 20% fee reduction for all former Middlesex University students. The Chevening Scholarship, funded by the British Government, can cover their postgraduate tuition fees. The Commonwealth Scholarship covers course fees, airfares, and a living allowance. Finally, the European Academic Awards are for students with strong academic results, offering an award of £1,000 to £7,000.
