Course overview

This course offers a qualifying law degree and also allows students to develop academic insight into the business environment. It also aids in developing their knowledge of English law; students will learn from experts with direct experience at every level of business. Successful completion of any of these law courses will provide students with qualifying law degrees.

Students are taught by a research-active faculty, learning about both theoretical and practical aspects of law. They will be part of a vibrant community with an active student law body. Through the Sussex Law Clinics, they can gain valuable work experience of the law in action before they graduate.

The University also has links with leading law firms, which sponsor their student competitions in national and international mooting, client interviewing, negotiation, mediation and legal debating. Their supportive alumni are happy to provide career advice for current students.

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • A level - AAB
  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 34 points

English Language Requirements:

  • An IELTS Academic score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 in each component.
  • PTE Academic score is at least 59 in all four skills. We do not accept the PTE Academic Online test.
  • TOEFL (iBT) 80, including at least 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking, 17 in Writing.

    £5,000 in the first year of full-time study.

    £500 each year of study. The opportunity to organise an annual student music event.

    Up to £2,000 for BSc students, up to £3,000 for MChem students.

Career opportunities

Subject to completion of the necessary further qualifications, graduates could practise law as:

  • Solicitor,
  • Barrister,
  • Risk Analyst/Manager,
  • Legal Counsellor/Advisor,
  • Policy development or Politics.

Cost of study

The tuition fee for the LLB Law with Business and Management is £23,500 per year for international students.
