Course Overview

The MSc Infrastructure Engineering and Management at the University of Surrey is an accredited postgraduate programme that focuses on planning, designing, analysing, and managing infrastructure systems using a system-of-systems approach. Students gain expert knowledge of the full life cycle of infrastructure assets, including financing, planning, operation, and maintenance.

The course emphasizes sustainable decision-making, resilience to external hazards such as climate change, and infrastructure’s role in achieving a net-zero carbon economy. It is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) and includes an optional industrial placement year for practical experience. Assessment is through examinations, coursework, project work, and a dissertation.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Applicants must submit a personal statement and provide a relevant academic and/or employer reference. A CV may also be uploaded to demonstrate relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • A first degree equivalent to at least a UK second class (2.2) honours degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering, management, or science discipline.
  • Applicants are considered individually, with professional experience and subject relevance taken into account.

English Proficiency:

  • IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and 5.5 in Reading, Listening, and Speaking.
  • Equivalent scores such as TOEFL or PTE Academic are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students is £24,900 per year. Fees are subject to change.

Scholarships

The University of Surrey provides various scholarships and bursaries for postgraduate students. University graduates may receive a 20% discount on taught master's programme fees. International students paying their deposit within 10 days of receiving an offer may also be eligible for a £2,000 early payment discount.
