BSc Nursing Studies Registered Nurse Children and Young People Nursing with foundation year

University of Surrey

Course overview

This undergraduate programme includes a foundation year that prepares students who do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry. After completing the Foundation Year, students move onto the three-year BSc (Hons) course to train as a Registered Nurse in Children and Young People Nursing. The programme is in line with the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

The course balances 50% theory with 50% clinical placements in NHS partner hospitals. Students will use the University's Clinical Simulation Centre to learn. They are taught by healthcare experts and researchers, and learn alongside students from other healthcare disciplines, giving them a broad education. Assessment is through written coursework, examinations, and simulation classes, helping build confidence in complex care and leadership.
