University of Sunderland

Course overview

The BSc (Hons) Audiology at the University of Sunderland is a three-year, full-time undergraduate degree designed to train future healthcare science practitioners in NHS audiology. The course provides essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the assessment, management, and therapeutic rehabilitation of patients with hearing and balance disorders across all age groups.

This accredited programme follows the Practitioner Training Programme (PTP) curriculum and is primarily delivered online, with students attending one week on-campus each semester. A key component of the degree is the requirement to complete a minimum of 50 weeks of integrated clinical placements within accredited NHS audiology departments over the three years, ensuring graduates develop the professional competencies needed for clinical practice.
