The LLB Law at the University of Suffolk enables students to learn the essential characteristics of law and develop foundational legal skills. Students will begin by exploring the theories and philosophies that support law and the English legal system.
Students will also examine the main concepts of the constitutional, administrative and human rights aspects of public law in England and Wales. They will engage critically with the nature of the British constitution and the function of constitutional principles in balancing the relationship between the executive, the legislature and the judiciary.
Students will study the moral and ethical aspects of law and the practice of law in a range of legal settings. They will understand specific sets of regulations set by professional bodies, namely the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority. They will experience an extended mock trial and will spend time reflecting on the law in society and access to justice.
