BSc Architecture
Course overview
The BSc Architecture at the University of Salford is a three-year full-time undergraduate course accredited by RIBA and prescribed by ARB, which prepares students for professional architecture practice through design-led learning. During the course of learning, students develop creative design skills to tackle global challenges like decarbonisation via studio projects, site visits, and digital fabrication tools such as 3D printers and laser cutters on the Peel Park campus.
Learning modules cover design studios, history and theory, construction technology, and professional practice, blending individual work, lectures, and multidisciplinary collaborations with live briefs from industry partners. Evaluation focuses on portfolios, presentations, essays, and models rather than exams, fostering critical thinking and communication for complex spatial problems.
The programme emphasises urban contexts in vibrant Manchester, resulting in a thesis project and end-of-year exhibition to showcase your portfolio to employers. Extra opportunities include guest lectures and research with world-leading facilities, ensuring you're industry-ready.
