MSc Forensic Psychology
Course overview
This Master's course is approved by the British Psychological Society (BPS). It will prepare students for a job in Forensic Psychology by teaching the theories and hands-on skills needed to look into why crimes happen and their effects. The main focus is on the job of a forensic psychologist in the legal and criminal system, making sure students are ready for their careers. Students will learn core ideas, examine real crime examples, and practise using psychology theories in real-world situations.
The course aims to help students grasp the role of a forensic psychologist in places like prisons and secure hospitals, preparing them for good careers or for further study at the PhD level. Students will be taught by Chartered and registered Forensic Psychologists. Students will gain hands-on skills for assessing and treating people, develop a solid knowledge of criminal behaviour, and learn the ethical rules for working in this area.
