Course overview

The MEng Computer Science at the University of Portsmouth is a 4-year integrated MEng programme. Students will build a solid foundation of core computer science concepts on everything from programme design, data structures and algorithms, networking and artificial intelligence to cyber security, therefore further strengthening students' capabilities and knowledge on the course, which will elevate students at global organisations like IBM and BAE Systems.

 

The MEng Computer Science from the University of Portsmouth allows students to achieve a master's-level degree with an extra year of undergraduate study, which can further enhance their career prospects. In the final year of your MEng, students will study advanced topics and complete an interdisciplinary project to get practical experience in the field.

Entry requirements

Grade requirements:

  • UCAS Tariff: International students are required to score 112-120 points.

  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DDM - DMM.

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme: International students are required to score 27 points.

 

English Language Requirements:

  • IELTS (Academic): International students are required to have English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.

  • PTE Academic: International students are required to have an overall score of 62 with a minimum of 59 in each skill.

  • TOEFL (iBT): International students are required to have 79 with a minimum of 18 in Reading, 17 in Listening, 20 in Speaking, and 17 in Writing.
