BEng Electronic Systems Engineering Top-Up

The BEng Electronic Systems Engineering (Top-Up) at the University of Portsmouth is a one-year programme designed to prepare students to be ahead in technological advancement. Students will gain expertise in signal processing and Artificial Intelligence (AI), which enables them to design and improve the electronic systems used in everyday life.

The learning covers areas such as advanced electronic systems, digital signal processing, foundation of artificial intelligence, project planning and management and supply chain management. The students will be able to bring designs and prototypes to life by combining the knowledge of computer science and electronic systems principles.

This programme involves practical applications ìn industry-standard labs and equipment. The teaching methods include lectures, workshops and practical sessions, while assessments are done through coursework, exams and project work.

The University of Portsmouth (UoP) is located in Portsmouth, England. It was established in 1870 and has been providing quality education. In 2022, the University of Portsmouth, ranked as the 25th largest higher education institution by student enrolments in the United Kingdom, with around 28,280 students enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

Applicants must submit a personal statement discussing their interest in the course and any relevant experience. A reference from an academic or employer is required. A  CV can be uploaded to show any relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants typically need to have a relevant HE study leading to a Level 5 qualification, for example, an appropriate HND, foundation degree or Advanced Diploma.

English Proficiency:

• Non-English language speaking applicants need an overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no component score below 5.5.
• Alternatively, other tests like PTE or TOEFL are accepted.

The tuition fee for this course is £16,200 per year for international students. Tuition fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.

The University of Portsmouth offers scholarships to international students, including the Chancellor’s Global Academic Merit Scholarship, which offers a £5,000 reduction in fees and the Vice Chancellor's Global Development Scholarship, which offers a £2,500 fee reduction applied to the first year of study. Other scholarships are awarded by the university when students meet the eligibility requirements.
