BSc Biology with a Year Abroad

University of Kent

Course overview

This four-year undergraduate degree explores the science of life, from the level of genes and cells right up to entire ecosystems and global challenges facing the planet. The programme is hands-on, informed by current research, and helps students develop essential analytical, practical, and critical thinking skills. Students gain laboratory and fieldwork experience using modern equipment and work alongside leading academic staff.

A significant part of this course is the year spent studying abroad at one of the University’s partner institutions, which helps broaden perspectives and enhance confidence. The curriculum allows students to customise their learning to suit their interests, whether it be cell biology, genetics, ecology, or conservation. The degree is professionally recognised and accredited by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB).
