BSc Biology with a Foundation Year

Course overview

The four-year BSc Biology with a Foundation Year is an undergraduate programme designed for applicants who do not hold the required science qualifications for direct entry. The initial Foundation Year focuses on academic preparation, covering Foundations of Science and Scientific Methods, which builds the necessary confidence and knowledge for degree-level study.

Following the foundation stage, students progress onto the three years of the BSc Biology degree, exploring the science of life from cells to ecosystems. Teaching involves laboratory sessions and field work, developing professional skills. The full degree is also professionally recognised by the Royal Society of Biology (RSB).
