Course overview

The University of Hull BSc Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) with Foundation Year programme emphasises Python programming, databases, networks, operating systems, and the impact of AI on society while providing hands-on training in industry-standard settings. Students can work on projects with well-known companies like Electronic Arts and Sony and compete in competitions like the Microsoft Imagine Cup.

With innovations like driverless cars and medical diagnostics, artificial intelligence is drastically changing our lives by improving safety and decision-making while reducing environmental impact..At the University of Hull, a foundation year develops academic skills and imparts the necessary knowledge for a successful transition into a chosen degree.

Flexibility in choosing a degree is made possible by the foundation courses' ability to incorporate content from related subjects. For example, a student enrolled in Music Foundation Year may also be enrolled in Media Foundation, allowing them to switch to other related disciplines like Graphic Design without having to restart the foundation year. The professional development course offers the opportunity for a paid industry year in the first year and provides essential experience, leading to a final-year project to showcase abilities to prospective employers.
