Course overview

University of Gloucestershire BSc Sports Performance offers a strong foundation in sport, coaching, and physical education with a performance-based emphasis.

 

Students develop knowledge of sport science, coaching techniques, performance development, and professional practices, and learn through interactive lectures, seminars, and practical workshops in specialist sport and exercise facilities. 

 

Assessment is varied and includes coursework, practical assessments, placements, and a major project in the final year. 

Entry requirements

Candidates of the BSc Sports Performance at the University of Gloucestershire are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. An appropriate academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their application to demonstrate their work experience.

 

Grade Requirements:

 

  • Applicants typically need around 104–112 UCAS tariff points. For example, A-level grades around BCC are accepted.  Other level-3 qualifications, such as BTEC or T-Level, may also be considered.

  • Applicants must usually hold GCSEs in English Language and Maths at grade 4/C or above. 

 

English Proficiency:

 

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need an IELTS overall score with minimum section scores.

  • Applicants with other accepted SELTs are accepted.

    £1,500 tuition fee waiver deducted from first years tuition fee at the point of offer.

  • Sports Global Excellence Scholarship

    The value of the scholarship will be £7,500 (spread over the 3 years) for Undergraduate students and £5,000 for Postgraduate students.

    £7,500 tuition fee waiver split over the three years of tuition fee.
