MA Interior Architecture and Design

University of East London

Course overview

The MA Interior Architecture and Design at the University of East London takes a look at how changing technologies and demographics are shifting the use of shared and private spaces. Students will examine the connection between everyday life and design practices, questioning the future of various environments like offices, libraries, or retail stores. This strategy will motivate the students to question existing conventions and suggest new practices to bring about cultural, social, and political transformation.

The course is practical and hands-on in nature, and this represents the school's commitment to 'making' as a primary learning technique. The students are evaluated with regular design practices, studio tutorials, workshops and final presentations that consist of essays and submissions of the portfolio. Activities that involve learning include working on real-life projects and scenarios where the students can be able to experiment with materials and come up with models to be used to test their complex design ideas.
