BEng Computer Systems Engineering
Course overview
This BEng Computer Systems Engineering degree explores how computer science is applied to physical hardware, such as embedded devices, networks, and electronics, which power everyday items like mobile phones and industrial control systems. Students will begin by building a strong base in software development and computer programming using various languages and platforms. They then move on to practical study of hardware, exploring computer architectures, networks, and electronics, with options to specialise in areas of interest.
Students will learn through a blend of lectures, seminars, and practical lab sessions. These sessions help them better understand the topics and expand their knowledge. Students will also need to study on their own. Your work is checked through a mix of tasks, both alone and with others. This includes writing reports, giving presentations, taking tests, and finishing a main, individual project in their final year.
