MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences with Entrepreneurship

University of Dundee

Course overview

The MSc Biomedical and Molecular Sciences with Entrepreneurship at the University of Dundee focuses on key areas in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, thereby preparing students for careers in these industries. Students will study how cells, genes and molecules affect health and disease and will also develop skills in entrepreneurship, business planning and venture finance by covering modules such as MSc Project Proposal and Associated Skills, Therapeutics, Venture Capital and Private Equity, and Practising Entrepreneurship: Starting your business.

Teaching is delivered through lectures, workshops, invited talks, journal clubs and a bio-business research project undertaken with one-to-one supervision. Assessment includes coursework, exams, data analysis exercises, presentations, mock job applications, and a focused research report. The teaching is based largely in the classroom rather than pure laboratory work, and students will work alongside both the School of Life Sciences and the School of Business (and the Centre for Entrepreneurship).
