BA Media and Business Management
Course overview
The BA (Hons) in Media and Business Management at the University of Derby is a Joint Honours degree that integrates two exciting areas of study. Along with learning vital business and management skills, you are going to explore a variety of media, such as films, TV shows, news, and digital media. The goal of this course is to prepare you for a variety of employment opportunities in the business and media sectors by giving you transferable skills in communication, problem-solving, research, and critical thinking.
You will get the chance to obtain practical experience through field trips, industry-driven projects, and an optional year of placement. After your first year, you can decide whether to major in one area or study both equally because the course gives flexibility.
Entry requirements
Your application can be taken into consideration by the institution if you have relevant job experience or other qualifications. Applicants who fit certain requirements, such as having caregiving experience or being separated from their families, can also receive contextual offers.
Grade Requirements
- Applicants must have 112 UCAS points, which can be obtained with credentials such as BBC at A Level, a Merit at T Level, or a Pass in an Access to HE Diploma with 60 credits (including 45 at Level 3, with a minimum of 15 Distinctions, 24 Merits, and 6 Passes).
English Proficiency
IELTS: 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each skill area (for non-native English speakers).

Cost of study
The annual tuition cost for the full-time study (2025–2026) is £9,535 for students in the UK. The full-time degree costs £16,900 for international students in 2025–2026. Although many resources, including access to LinkedIn Learning and Adobe Creative Cloud memberships, are included in your fees, there may be additional expenses for books and optional field trips.
