MEng Aerospace Engineering with Pilot Studies with Foundation Year
Course overview
This five-year Master of Engineering (MEng) with a Foundation Year combines high-level aerospace engineering study with professional pilot training theory. The foundation year provides core engineering skills, including mathematics and computer-aided design, to ensure students are fully prepared for the advanced content of the integrated master's degree.
The main MEng programme integrates technical aerospace content with the theoretical knowledge required for the Private Pilot Licence (PPL) and the Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL). Students benefit from using excellent facilities, such as the full-motion flight simulator approved by EASA, alongside wind tunnels and other engineering labs. Note that the practical flying components of the pilot licence are an additional, separate cost.
