LLB Law with integrated Foundation

University of Buckingham

Course overview

The LLB Law with Integrated Foundation at the University of Buckingham is a specialised three-year undergraduate degree designed for students who need to develop the academic and practical skills required for success in a full law degree. It provides a clear pathway into university-level legal study. The first year builds a strong academic foundation, which then progresses smoothly into advanced law subjects in years two and three. Through this structure, students can achieve a full honours qualification more quickly than on a traditional route.

Teaching at the University of Buckingham takes place in small classes and combines lectures with interactive discussion-based tutorials. Students develop essential skills in legal writing, oral communication, research, and problem-solving. Practical learning is central to the programme, with compulsory activities such as mooting (practising court arguments). The course also fully prepares students for the first stage of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE1) for those intending to qualify as solicitors in the UK.
