BSc Children and Young People's Nursing

University of Bedfordshire

Course overview

The BSc Children and Young People's Nursing degree equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to look after children and young people with various health conditions. The course helps students develop strong communication skills, compassion, and specialist nursing abilities. It is a four-year degree that includes a foundation year to help students improve their academic writing and maths skills before they start the main part of the course.

Students will learn through a combination of classroom study and hands-on experience, with half of their time spent in real-world hospital and community settings. Students' work is graded through different types of assignments, like essays, case studies, and written reflections. Students will also be assessed during their placements using a special document that tracks their progress. Patients and their families even get to give feedback on their performance, making sure their learning is relevant to the real job.
