BSc Psychology and Child Development

Staffordshire University

Course overview

The BSc Psychology and Child Development degree helps students understand how psychology shapes identities and how it influences children's behaviour and development. Students explore solutions to important questions, such as how children learn efficiently and how neurodivergent children perceive the world. By applying knowledge to real situations and taking an evidence-based approach, students become authorities on child development and wellbeing.

The course offers breadth and flexibility, allowing students to develop specialist areas of interest, guiding their final-year research projects. Optional modules include research assistantships, working on live research with academic experts. Students will have access to the state-of-the-art Science Centre facilities, including cognitive research cubicles, psychophysiology equipment, simulation machines, and a children's lab for working with volunteer families on research projects.
