PHD Materials and Fluid Flow Modelling

Course Overview

The MPhil in Materials and Fluid Flow Modelling is a practical research programme focused on a specific subject. The course allows students to explore areas such as liquid crystals, polymers, or thermodynamics, with the potential for their work to be published alongside respected research from the Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI).

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

When applying, applicants need to submit a completed postgraduate application form. This form should include a research proposal of about 1500 words, where students will discuss their intended area of study. Candidates should make sure their proposal fits with the ongoing research of the university's staff.

Grade Requirements:

All applicants should hold a strong undergraduate degree (2.1 or above) and/or a relevant master's qualification (or the equivalent).

English Proficiency:

If English is not your first language, the candidate must show proof of their English ability.
An overall IELTS score of 6.5 or above, with at least 6.0 in each component or an accepted equivalent. Please note that your test score must be current, i.e. within the last two years.

Cost of Study

For full-time international and EU postgraduate research students, the tuition fee for this course is £17,725 per year.

A range of scholarship opportunities exists for international students. These include the Transform Together Scholarship, which provides a 50% tuition fee reduction for high-performing applicants.
