Course overview

This four-year course leads to an honours or master's degree in Biochemistry. The first year is a foundation year for students who do not meet the usual entry requirements for a full degree. The course teaches the main principles of chemistry and biology, as well as the important skills needed for university study.

The learning is focused on hands-on practice, with a strong emphasis on laboratory skills. Students will learn about core subjects like molecular and cellular biochemistry and modern lab techniques. The course also gives students the chance to do a year-long work placement to get professional experience.

A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
