BSc Nursing Child

Course Overview

The BSc Nursing (Child) course at Middlesex University is designed for students who want to make a difference in children’s lives as professional children’s nurses. The programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring students are fully prepared for clinical practice.

Students will spend 50% of their time on clinical placements at leading hospitals such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, and the other 50% learning in classrooms. The course develops essential skills in communication, decision-making, and teamwork within the context of caring for children.

Accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), the programme provides a balance of theory and practical learning. Students are also trained in advanced simulation facilities, where they can practise using professional healthcare equipment in a safe environment.

Assessments include reports, care plans, drug calculations, online assessments, presentations (both online and physical), essays, and written exams in the second and third years of study.
