London South Bank UniversitySouthwark Campus, United Kingdom
Course overview
Please note: This course is subject to change as we are updating our modules for September 2026 entry. We'll publish the new module details as soon as they're confirmed. Study Law with impact At LSBU, you don’t just study criminology and law in abstract settings; you learn how legal rules and justice systems operate in real-world contexts.
You will develop a strong understanding of criminological theory alongside the practical application of law through one of our legal clinics. We are the first Law School in the UK to guarantee all students the opportunity to work in one of our in-house clinics, where you will gain hands-on legal experience by supporting real people in our community. Through our Legal Advice, Human Rights, and Law & Social Policy clinics, you will work on live cases involving housing, family, employment, consumer rights, and social justice issues, all based in central London.
This practical legal experience helps you build confidence, strengthen your CV, and develop professional skills and networks before you graduate. At the same time, your criminology studies enable you to critically examine how crime is defined, investigated, prosecuted, and punished, and to understand the wider social, political, and economic contexts that shape criminal behaviour and criminal justice systems.
