BSc Nursing Adult

The BSc Nursing (Adult) course at London Metropolitan University trains students to care for adult patients in a range of settings. Students learn how to assess patient needs, deliver safe care, and make sound decisions under pressure. Real-life nursing skills are taught through lectures, practical sessions, and placements in hospitals or care homes. The course is designed to help students develop compassion, respect, and confidence, so they are ready to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council at the end of the training.

Students build knowledge year by year. They learn about anatomy, long-term health conditions, mental health, community nursing, and leadership. Each year includes practical placements. These placements let students gain work-based experience under supervision. They learn to think, act, and care like real nurses. They are assessed using written assignments and practical skills tests. Students must show that they can plan and deliver care safely to pass and move forward after each training.

Applicants must pass an enhanced DBS check, occupational health screening, and an interview that shows their values of compassion and respect.

Grade Requirements:

• Students need at least 104 UCAS points, such as BCC at A-level or DMM in BTEC.
• They also need five GCSEs at grade 4/C including Maths and English, and ideally a science subject.
• Applicants should have at least five days of recent care work experience.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your first language, you will need to show proof of English proficiency with an IELTS score of 7.0 overall with the following component scores: Listening: 7.0, Reading: 7.0, Writing: 6.5, and Speaking: 7.0.
