BSc Computing

Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) in Computing prepares students with the skills needed for the computing industry. The curriculum covers core topics like software development, object-oriented programming, and database development. The programme allows students to focus on topics such as artificial intelligence, ethics, and computer law, which gives students a foundation in computing. This course prepares its graduates for roles within the tech sector.

The programme is accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, giving you a BCS membership, which is an important requirement for Chartered IT Professional (CITP) status. Students also have the option of taking industry placements and the chance to learn from industry experts. Students are assessed through essays, individual coursework, exams, research projects, and a final year dissertation.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

  • Grade Requirements:

    Candidates need 80 UCAS points, including A levels at grade CCE and BTEC in computer studies, information technology, mathematics, physics, or science. Other international equivalent qualifications are also accepted.
  • English Proficiency:

    Candidates need an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, with no score below 5.5. Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.

Also, the London Metropolitan University Sanctuary Scholarship assists students facing immigration-related funding challenges. The Unite Foundation Scholarship Scheme also offers three years of free accommodation to eligible undergraduate students who are care leavers or taken away from their parents, making university education accessible to them.
