BSc Biological Science

Course Overview

The BSc Biological Science degree at London Metropolitan University teaches how life works at the molecular, cellular, and whole-organism levels. Students study key subjects such as cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, chemistry, anatomy, and data analysis in Year 1. The focus is on training students to investigate diseases, monitor treatments, and conduct biological research. Students are taught through lectures, lab workshops, and close support from lecturers. Assessments include lab reports, essays, presentations, posters, and exams. Graduates of this course also qualify to apply for membership in the Royal Society of Biology.

Entry Requirements for Egyptian Students

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need 112 UCAS points, typically achieved with three A-Levels at CCC, including a C in Biology or Human Biology.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above are also required.
  • Applicants who do not meet the requirements but have relevant professional qualifications or extensive professional experience may also be considered.

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not your first language, you are required to submit proof of English proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no section below 5.5.
  • Other equivalent tests, such as TOEFL and PTE, are also accepted.
