Kingston University MSc Adult Nursing is a two-year graduate Master's programme that aims to train graduates who have a first degree in allied fields. The programme equips a student with the required theoretical aspects and applied skills to be able to register as an adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Students engage in practical learning through innovative simulations with role players and entire body manikins to develop the relevant skills needed to provide safe patient care. Through the curriculum, students will be equipped with basic aspects of nursing practice, applied life science, and other aspects involved in specialised nursing care of adults, preparing students for professional roles in various healthcare settings.
The curriculum design guarantees thorough knowledge acquisition by a combination of the classroom experience with simulated practice and comprehensive clinical placements. They will have the experience of working with the patients, carers, clinical mentors, as well as other healthcare professionals, which will allow them to develop the necessary collaborative skills. The modes of assessment generally consist of some coursework and some exams. There is also the possibility that after the first year, students may be offered an elective placement either nationally or internationally to widen their experience.
