MSc Psychology Conversion

Course Overview

The MSc Psychology (Conversion) from Edge Hill University is designed to enable graduates in disciplines other than psychology the opportunity to obtain the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). GBC is necessary for pursuing postgraduate training in applied areas of psychology associated with the Society's Divisions- such as educational and clinical psychology– as a first step toward gaining status as a chartered psychologist.

Students will study a wide range of psychological areas, including biological, cognitive, social and developmental psychology. They will also learn about personality and individual differences in the study of human behaviour. By focusing on these interrelated areas, students will enhance their understanding of psychological research methods and data analysis.

Outside of lectures, there are opportunities to work with experts on their latest research projects. The programme is taught by academics who are actively carrying out world-leading research in their field, providing students with the essential skills and knowledge to succeed in their chosen careers.
